The State Fair

Back at the beginning of the summer we decided to participate in the Read and Win program that allowed Taylor and Eliza to get a free admission to the State fair. The tickets came and we decided today would be the day to go!!! It was fun, although I must complain about the prices for the rides. Utterly ridiculous to pay $5 to pay one ride, but otherwise, very fun.

It started off with walking around and seeing all the animals. Then we found out that they had an alligator show and the girls had to attend. So, we killed some time and got there to see the show. It was fun and very entertaining and educational. They had one kid from the audience come up and pet the alligator and Brooklyn turned to me and told me that she wanted to do that. My little 2 year old wanted to pet an alligator that is 10 times her weight!!!! She of course couldn't, but they did bring out a smaller alligator and we paid $5 for the girls to have their picture taken with the smaller alligator. Brooklyn was so happy to be able to pet the alligator and hold the tail.

We then went to the shark encounter and to the Hands on Farm for kids. The girls loved milking the fake cow, picking apples, getting eggs and they even got a treat at the end. Very fun stuff. Outside of the farm I took a picture of Taylor, Eliza, and Brooklyn as carrotts.

Taylor and Eliza also went and rode on the bumper cars because they had a ticket for 1 free ride. To make Brooklyn happy I bought her a cotton candy and even fed some to Tessa, which she loved!!! She kept grunting at me to give her more and hence the third picture of Tessa with cotton candy on her face.

The funniest and cutest part of the trip was Brooklyn. When we had entered the fair I had a ticket for me to give to the ticket taker. He ripped it and gave it back and Brooklyn insisted on having it and putting it in her pocket. Throughout the whole time we were at the state fair she kept pulling the ticket out of her pocket and saying "Look, Brooklyn Berrett!!", as if her name was printed right on the ticket. She was so proud.
